Matthew 22:37 “Jesus replied, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’”
    The school is the place where the broader community seeks to pass on to the next generation its memory of the past and its current cultural values. The Christian school’s task is to take the whole range of life and the curriculum to teach our children so that they know that every square inch of this universe is under God’s control. The character, the quality, and the soul of education at Pella Christian Grade School must be Christian. As Christian parents and Christian teachers work together in training our children, we tell of God’s sovereign rule and give an account of our own experience of God.
    Our school’s logo, “Quality Education for the Heart, Mind, and Soul,” is based on Matthew 22:37, the first and greatest commandment. We want our children to love God with their intellect and with their emotions, demonstrated in a life of service.
    The heart embraces the cross. God loves us so much that he died on the cross to save us. The heart also represents the loving nurture that our teachers and staff give to our children. When parents visit school, the love for the student should be evident. Students must learn to love others because they, too, are created in God’s image.
    The books represent knowledge. Our school strives for high academic standards using programs to meet the needs of all students. We define excellence in education in a way that acknowledges the demands of Christian discipleship and service to God’s Kingdom as children and later as adults.
    The cross reminds us to nurture our souls all through life. God’s sacrificial love for us who believe is evident with Jesus dying on the cross. We serve a risen Savior, and the teachers at Pella Christian Grade School help our children to praise God in all that they do.
