1:1 @ PCGS
In June of 2012 the Pella Christian Grade School Board of Trustees passed a motion to begin the process of bringing a 1:1 program to PCGS.
 
At the December of 2012 Board Meeting the Pella Christian Grade School Board of Trustees formally approved a 1:1 iPad program for grades 6-8 to begin in August of 2013 so long as a suitable offsite filtering program is secured.
 
In March of 2013 the Board of Trustees approved an offsite filtering and iPad management system.  
 
In July of 2013 the iPads were ordered and prepared for student use at the start of the 2013-14 school year.  
 
Throughout the 2015-2016 school year the 1:1 program was reviewed and evaluated.  In April of 2016 the Board of Trustees made the following motion:
 
     To approve the recommendations of the Technology Committee concerning the 1:1 proposals.
          1. To purchase chromebooks to continue our 1:1 program in sixth through eighth grade.
          2. To purchase additional chromebooks to begin an In-School 1:1 program in 5th grade.
          3. To use a portion of iPad 4 devices to begin an In-School 1:1 program in 4th grade.
 
The desire of PCGS is to continue to provide tools and resources for our students who are 21st century learners. Increasing access to technology is essential for the future of our students and the use of devices is a way to help them apply technology in college, in the workplace, and beyond.  Read more about our program at the following links:
