*Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. Some post graduate work has been completed at Drake University and Dordt College.

*Taught grades 1-4 at Pella Christian Grade School or Newton Christian School.

*Reading aide, special education aide, and a substitute teacher.

* I am married to Randy Nugteren, a licensed land surveyor for Garden and Associates. We have three children: Amy, Ryan, and Steven. Amy is married to Jonathan Vander Vliet and she works at Georgetown University for the Berkley Center for Religion,Peace and World Affairs. Her husband is an engineer for Lockeed-Martin. Ryan also works at Garden and Associates and is working online on his college degree. Steven is married to Chelsey Munneke, and they now live near Madrid, IA  where Steven is the park ranger for the High Trestle Bridge and works at Swede Point Park. Chelsey is a free lance writer. They are the parents of our two granddaughters, Annika and Ruby.

* When I have time I enjoy gardening, sewing, traveling, and spending extra time with my family. 
* My favorite Bible verses are from Philippians 4:4-8 where we are reminded to find our joy in a God we can fully rely on at all times.
* One of the greatest joys I have in teaching is to partner with parents in training their children to learn more about God and His world so they may let His love shine through them as they serve HIm.
