Pella Christian is such a wonderful place to work and send my children!  I am looking forward to starting my sixth year here! Before coming back to working full time I was a substitute teacher and stay-at-home mom for 14 years.  Before that, I taught 2nd grade at Des Moines Christian for 5 years.  My first year out of college, I taught a 3rd/4th split in Everett, WA.

Tim and I have been married for 24 wonderful years.  Tim works in Des Moines as a Social Security Disability Examiner.  We have been blessed with 3 children:  Brett (College Freshman at Liberty University), Kayla (11th), and Ryan (8th). We love to play games and go hiking and biking together.

My deep hope for my first graders is that they explore God and His world, see that they play a unique part in His world, and then respond to Him with love, worship and service!  I can't wait to dive into this deep hope with them this year and also live out our first grade "storyline": Explore, Play, Grow!

Special verses to me:

Colossians 3:12-14  Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.  Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Psalm 63:3-5  Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.  I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.  My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
