8th Graders Live Into God's Story at PCGS...

My name is Elizabeth Oosterheert,  and I am honored to be teaching seventh grade literature, eighth grade literature and English, and directing middle school theatre for the 2019-2020 school year at Pella Christian Grade School!

Originally, I am from Michigan, where I taught in three different schools and earned my Masters from Calvin College in Curriculum Design and Instruction.  My passions include writing beside my students as we compose our autobiographies and respond to literature and nonfiction, and directing Pella Christian's Eighth Grade Theatre Troupe and seventh grade theatre exploratory. I love encouraging students to develop their unique gifts as writers, listeners and speakers for lives of service in God's kingdom.

This year, our eighth graders will be publishing a class book of autobiographical compositions, competing in the Three Rivers Writing Contest, and performing our class play, Crown of Rosesin November. We will compete as an Eighth Grade Theatre Troupe at the regional level in the spring.

My oldest daughter, Audrey, will be a junior at Pella Christian High School this year, and my other children will all be attending Pella Christian Grade School.

One of my favorite passages is Hebrews 6:19: "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure..."
