Nolan Wiersma

My name is Nolan Wiersma. I grew up in Rock Valley, Iowa and attended Rock Valley Christian School and Western Christian High School. After one semester at Dordt College, I didn't have a strong call as to what God intended me to do with my life. So, I decided to quit college and began working in a small manufacturing plant in Rock Valley, Iowa. I enjoyed the work that I did but always felt if something was missing. As I started to get involved with summer recreation programs and Sunday School through my church, I quickly realized that I wanted to spend my life serving youth. So, in 2007 I enrolled in the education program at Hope College in Holland, Michigan and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Middle School Mathematics Endorsement. In December of 2016 I graduated from Dordt College with a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.

The 2018-2019 school year will be my sixth year of service at PCGS. I taught middle school math at PCGS from 2011-2014. I then took a position as an elementary school principal in Southwest Michigan.  Although I enjoyed by time serving in a school leadership capacity, I missed the classroom and the day-to-day interaction with students. I loved my three years of service at PCGS from 2011-2014, so when a position opened back up for the fall of 2016, I was happy to once again join the PCGS team!

Another huge part of my life is my family. I've been married to my wife, Katie, for 10 years and we have three children together - Alaina, Ellery, and Isaac. Alaina is seven years old and attends 2nd grade at PCGS. Ellery is six years old and is in Kindergarten at PCGS. Isaac is our youngest and is two years old. We love our family and enjoy spending time together!
