Spiritual life is a part of every program, subject, activity and classroom at Pella Christian. We challenge every student to develop their individual God-given gifts for a life of service in God's kingdom.
Students participate in many types of chapel activities throughout the school year. School-wide chapels bring our community together several times. Other times Middle School and Elementary School students meet separately to learn and grow in ways that more specifically meet their learning styles. Grade-level teams also come together to share in worship time together. Additionally, our Spanish immersion classes join together to worship regularly in the Spanish language.
All students at Pella Christian Grade School are in a Discipleship Group. These groups, consisting of members from every grade level, meet throughout the year to do a variety of activities such as a field day or Christmas caroling in the community. Eighth-grade students work side-by-side with the adult sponsors to lead the group in events.
Students engage in acts of service, as the hands and feet of Christ, by partnering with nonprofit organizations in the Pella area for a fall school-wide Love Project.
A central part of seeing God's Story is to learn the language of faith. Children often imitate things, and memorize things, before they fully understand them. This is the foundation of learning. By helping children learn the language of faith at a young age, we are able to build on that foundation and teach them a deeper, more comprehensive understanding as they get older.
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6
